how is that even related

this movie has that same man swallow a boneless glob-chicken whole and that’s what you have an issue with? 

well it’s kinda not supposed to, because the point in the whole movie is to show how chihiro along with other children share a disconnect with their parents - that their parents dont listen

so when she tells her dad that they’re lost, her dad assumes it’s another question and doesn’t pay attention to what she’s really asking

this is why she sees things they dont, and miyazaki tries to emphasize that - that’s how she gets into the magical world and err not get turned into a pig. 

sometimes parents suck and they’ve already passed that point of decency or creativity that children have. but at the end chihiro still loves her parents even though they make mistakes because she still tries to save them.
